Where these rules come from

The law of 19 November 2024, known as the “Le Meur law”, gave towns new tools to regulate furnished tourist lets, and each town on the Riviera has used them in its own way: a 90-day cap for a main home, a change of use with compensation or a quota for a second home, a registration number. This list draws on our note on the 2026 rules, town by town (checked on 3 October 2026, updated on 23 and 24 October 2026), completed on 3 November 2026 for Menton, Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Villefranche-sur-Mer.

For the tourist tax on a given stay, the tourist tax calculator gives the amount and the calculation. For a property you are thinking of entrusting to us, the property study goes through these points with you before anything goes online.

This page summarises rules as at the date shown, from the sources cited. It is not legal or tax advice: town decisions change, and each property should be checked with its town hall before it is let.
